New technology for large mould manufacture

A new technology for large mould manufacture was developed. This technology combined advances in die-less metal sheet forming, modular design and fabrication processes to rapidly make inexpensive, low-weight moulds for RTM process (resin transfer moulding). Moulds can be equipped with cooling/heating system. The moulding can be computer controlled by implementing feedback system to the controlling program through a set of sensors.

There is a significant potential in implementing this technology for self-heated moulds in rotational moulding. It has been shown that substantial gains in manufacture time and cost can be achieved.
