Solidification Modelling Software Evaluation
Evaluation of available solidification modelling software from the industry needs perspective. This project was initiated and brought to reality in recognition of the importance of the capacity to carry out casting simulations as part of prototype tool development. Project involved three foundries in Toowoomba, BHP Tubemakers in Currumbin and ANI Bradken in Brisbane.
The main aim of the project was to show how to select cast modelling software and
demonstrate applications of simulation software using real life products. There were

mail - Improved casting designs and casting processes lead to substantial cost savings
- Awareness of auxiliary process impact on final quality of castings
